What does a landscape lighting design include? You may be interested in a lighting design, but aren’t sure all that is encompassed in a lighting design from Southern Lights. Southern Lights Landscape Lighting is the only AOLP (Association of Outdoor Lighting Professionals) certified installer in the Triad. Being AOLP certified means that we have the highest level of certification around, but it also means that we have to abide by AOLP guidelines.  To be in accordance with AOLP requirements, all of our lighting designs include:

  • Equipment placement or locations
  • Power source type & locations—electrical panels, receptacles, junction boxes, switches, etc. • Structures and/or hardscape elements—to be utilized in lighting applications
  • Scenes or Zones that the lighting should be connected to
  • Conduit & sleeve locations
  • Tree & focal point locations—identification for use in lighting applications
  • Electrical loads—calculations for each electrical circuit and transformer

(All information from Association of Outdoor Lighting Professionals Guidelines)
