Southern Lights, was featured with about a dozen other professionals in Landscape Architecture Magazine for our work on the Bourbon Bowl in downtown Greensboro. Since 1910, the magazine has featured the best of the best projects and we are honored to have our hometown work featured.
Our founder/owner, Pete Bryant had the pleasure of working with the owner of the Bourbon Bowl at his personal residence a few years back when he spoke about this idea for a new downtown restaurant, bar, and bowling concept. This idea was really intriguing. The owner trusted us and wanted us to head up the exterior project, so we got to work. We brought in our architect to produce the landscape/hardscape plan for the outdoor patio space and then we developed our own lighting design to complement her vision for the space. Many of you may know that Pete has run Southern Lights successfully for over 15+ years out of the Old Hillsdale Brick Store, but did you also know that he owned/operated Southern Exposure Landscape Management (now Southern Outdoor Living) for more than 27 years?
Pete has always been passionate about the landscape & lighting industries and as both of his companies grew, his desire for high-end audio & lighting also grew. His time was being split between the two companies, but in 2022 (a year ago today) he successfully sold his landscape company to focus 100% of his efforts towards the growth of Southern Lights Outdoor Lighting & Audio.
“Last year was the first year since I was a teenager that I did not own and operate Southern Exposure Landscape Management. I’ve enjoyed 27 years of amazing customers and projects and a lifetime of wonderful memories.
